New AGS website coming this Fall!

To provide researchers with quality service, the Edmonton-based web developer Mediashaker and the Alberta Genealogical Society have been creating a new website this summer. AGS is definitely changing. We are determined to bring users more features, such as: articles from our Relatively Speaking, more tools to finding elusive ancestors, and better online service. Our goal for live launch is September 30. Meanwhile, all AGS databases are still available. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have difficulty finding any AGS resources, please contact feel free to contact the webmaster.

Index to Selected Alberta History Books
This all-name index contains all of the names that appear throughout the pages of selected Alberta local history books held in Edmonton by the Alberta Genealogical Society and the AGS Edmonton Branch library. Thus it captures the names of people, organizations and places that are mentioned in books which previously had no index at all, as well as those that are buried in the stories of neighbours and therefore may not have appeared in any previous book index.

To help determine which Alberta History you may need also see "Alberta Histories" included here in a pdf download. This document presents both an 'Alphabetical Listing of Local Histories by Book Title' as well as 'Local Histories listed by Place Name'.
