Index to Selected Alberta History Books

This all-name index contains all of the names that appear throughout the pages of selected Alberta local history books held in Edmonton by the Alberta Genealogical Society and the AGS Edmonton Branch library. Thus it captures the names of people, organizations and places that are mentioned in books which previously had no index at all, as well as those that are buried in the stories of neighbours and therefore may not have appeared in any previous book index.
Index to Applications for Alberta Land Patents  - 1885 to 1897

The records in this collection (Provincial Archives of Alberta Access 1976.131) are applications for land patents completed by Alberta homesteaders in the approximate time frame 1885 to 1897.  The files also contain the affidavits completed in support of a homesteader’s application for land title.  Each file is four pages long.

These files exist only in paper format and the names are not found on the Alberta Homestead Index 1870-1930.  The files cover the following Alberta land agencies:  Beaver Lake, Calgary, Red Deer, Wetaskiwin, Edmonton and Lethbridge.
