The Alberta
Genealogical Society has 11 branches which are
ideal sources of information concerning the resources
available in the area, including the most recent and
useful guides to local repositories and new
publications. Membership in the parent society is a
requirement for membership in a branch.
Each branch holds regular
meetings and may also maintain a local genealogy
library. Branches have their own projects which
encourage and promote the study of genealogy and
genealogical research in their area.
Most branches also issue
regular newsletters providing useful information,
generally of a more localized nature, for example,
changes in a local repository's hours or fees.
